Our Values

Practicing Regenerative Neighborhood Development (RND) necessitates a grounding in values capable of guiding us through constant change and the complex and interconnected layering of crises we face — stratifying economic divides, collapsing infrastructure and urban decay, environmental degradation, perpetual cycles of violence, and food insecurity.

Sweet Water Foundation’s Essential Values provide such a foundation and offer a decision matrix through which RND practitioners can navigate the smallest and the most consequential decisions. This collection of values reflects the wisdom of elders and ancestors, deep study of history and Essential Texts, and tacit knowledge gained through more than a decade of labor and meaningful relationship to a place.
